Workplace certification · Est. recently
Not every workplace is great. Most are fine.
Tolerable Workplace™ is the certification you can’t buy. Run a real, anonymous employee survey. If 65% of your people say it’s fine, it’s fine, and we’ll put that in writing. No fees, no gala, no tiers of plexiglass.
Free forever. We checked with finance. There is no finance.
“It’s fine here. Put that on the website.”
Certified, because their people said so
How it works
Three steps. We tried to add a fourth and couldn’t justify it.
Ask
Nineteen statements, about four minutes, fully anonymous. Share one link. We never see names, and neither do you.
Count
We count the people who agreed. That is the whole algorithm. No weighting, no proprietary index, no “culture audit” add-on.
Certify
If 65% of answers come back favourable, you are Certified Tolerable™ for twelve months. If not, you get the same dashboard and a to-do list.
The Meh Index™
Questions people can answer honestly without rehearsing.
Six dimensions: management, meetings, pay, boundaries, coworkers, purpose. Every statement asks about something concrete that either happened to you this month or didn’t.
Read the methodologyI am paid enough that I did not update my LinkedIn this week.
A “quick question” after hours is rare.
When leadership says “we’re a family,” I do not feel uneasy.
For HR teams
A dashboard that tells you where it hurts.
Scores by dimension, by department, and by tenure. Every statement’s full distribution. Comments, unedited. A CSV, because you were going to ask.

A fair comparison
How we differ from a typical workplace award.
| A typical award | Tolerable Workplace™ | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to apply | A fee, then a bigger fee | $0 |
| Cost to use the logo | A licensing fee | $0. It’s an SVG. |
| Who decides | A panel, a formula, a vibe | Your employees |
| Can a bigger package improve your result | Let’s hop on a call | No |
| Awards gala | Black tie, table of ten | No |
| The bar | “World-class” | “Fine” |
| What you get if you fail | A renewal reminder | The same analytics |
Questions
Reasonable things to ask.
Is this a joke?+
The tone is. The product isn’t. The survey collects real anonymous responses, the dashboard does real analysis, and the certification follows a published rule that nobody can pay to bend.
Why “tolerable”? Shouldn’t we aim higher?+
Aim wherever you like. But most people don’t need work to be the best part of their life. They need it to be reasonable, paid fairly, and over by a sensible hour. That’s a bar worth actually clearing.
Can we pay to improve our score?+
No. You can improve your workplace, which takes longer and is harder to expense.
How anonymous is it?+
No names, emails, or IP addresses are stored with a response. Results stay hidden until 5 people have answered, and any department with fewer than 5 responses is never broken out.
Can we remove the questions we won’t like the answers to?+
No. You can add your own questions, and they’re reported separately. The standard statements are the certification; they stay.
What do you get out of this?+
The quiet satisfaction of a well-run survey. It’s fine.
Find out if your workplace is fine.
Ten minutes to set up. Four minutes to answer. No one will try to upsell you at any point.
